Terms & Conditions 2010 Photo Competition
- Competition closes at 5pm on Saturday 31 July 2010.
- Each photograph must be original and taken by entrant.
- The HTF Photo Competition is only open to amateur photographers (For the purpose of this competition a professional photographer is defined as an individual who makes the majority of their income from photography).
- A panel of judges will be made up of members of the Executive Committee, the Director and Honorary Members of HTF.
- The winner will be notified personally, prior to the on-line announcement.
- The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Our judges will shortlist the top 2 photographs from each category and display them online.
- Maximum of 1 entry per person per category.
- Entrants must either upload their images as directed on the online booking form or complete, print and post the online form to ‘Photo Competition’, HTF, PO Box 22, Bristol BS16 1RZ, with the original photograph/s (min 7” x 5” or 18cm x 13cm) and where possible an accompanying CD high resolution copy of all images entered. All CD’s and photographs must be clearly marked with entrant’s name, contact email and phone number.
- Electronic images must be maximum 1MB, (preferred resolution 300 pixels/inch). File types accepted are: jpeg, tif, gif, png, psd and pdf.
- All entries are sent at the photographers’ risk and HTF regrets that we cannot accept liability for damage or loss.
- All photos must be your own, with permission of your organisation to enter and be legally obtained with appropriate licence for photo activity if relevant.
- Images of identifiable children, people in close up and car registration numbers should be avoided.
- Manipulated digital images will not be accepted. A raw digital file may be asked to be submitted in the event of uncertainty. ‘Manipulated’ photographs are defined as one which after the photographer has taken the scene or image and received the developed slide or developed the negative the image is significantly altered in the photographer's ‘workshop’. Picture sizing is acceptable.
- Images will become the property of the Historic Towns Forum (HTF) and may be used on printed materials and other promotional media in its promotional, marketing and advertising activities.
- Shortlisted entrants should be able to provide further information, if required, regarding the details of the image (ie: the architect of a building, the company responsible for a development etc).
- HTF is not able to guarantee that hard copies of the photos will be returned.
- The prize will be for one day of racing sometime between June and September (excluding the May Festival) to be confirmed once the Chester Racecourse fixtures for 2011 have been announced.
